It’s been great to be there among the 200 “strong-mob” of my fellow Geeks Finally I could chat with somebody who understand my passion, and know what I’m rambling about. It’s uber cool !
Unfortunately with these many people, it’s impossible to talk to everybody. But at least I manage to say hi to Scobble, shake hands and take picture with him.
I had a long chat with Maryam (Scoble) over a pint and a bowl of Nachos. We were talking about how difficult it is to be a foreigner living in a foreign land, as she is originally from Iran who migrated to the US some 20 years ago and just got his citizenship this year, and I come from Indonesia and have been living here is London for almost 10 years, no citizenship yet, though Maryam encourage me to go for it. Thanks Maryam, I will think about it more seriously !
She also told me a small experience when they came down to London, that the UK Immigration almost didn’t let them in because Scoble’s Passport was washed-out, or something like that
I had a chat with two employees of Doppler, coming down from Belgium. I told them that I just downloaded their latest software that day, and the fact that I don’t like some of features there, and they told me to send some emails to them. Acutally, I forgot to take the email, so if you happen to read this, please drop me your email, or point me to the right direction. Thanks.
I also met Michael Platt from Microsoft. He was telling me about the Microsoft Team Server product that he’s been involved with. Nice guy.
And then there was the food, nice Mexican Fajitas. Tables were limited, so I had to find somewhere else to sit-down.
After that, we were listening to Scoble’s ‘Keynote Speech’ He also answered some questions from the audience. He said some very interesting comments.
All in all, it’s been a great night. I was thinking that we should do another dinner, but just for Bloggers, that would be great. Anybody wants to organise it ?
