Tom Raftery is the guy who runs the IT@Cork National Technology & Business Conference. He called me up the other day and we had a chat and he recorded that and put it up. He had previously asked his readers to send in their questions. They did, including one on open source that Tom didn’t expect me to answer. I answered that, and more, on the podcast.
And, yes, I did promise to kiss the Blarney Stone. I can see how Tom built a successful conference in a country far away from Silicon Valley.

Thanks a million for allowing me to interview you Robert - you were exceptionally generous with your time and knowledge - that’s what makes it such a great interview and podcast.
One minor correction - I am minorly involved in the organisation of the conference (I mostly get in the way) - the main organiser is Catherine Wall - Catherine has done a phenomenal job of putting a great line-up together for the conference (including yourself and Charles Handy).
Thanks again,
Tom

Robert,
Good podcast though. See you in Cork soon.
Kissing the Blarney Stone ain’t gonna do anything for you. You already have the gift of the gab. Some of your ancestors must have kissed it and passed it on.

Scoble doble do time - Robert Scoble IT@Cork Podcast
Tom has put up his podcast of the interview with Robert Scoble. I don’t know why but the theme tune to the Flintstones started going through my head when I thought of Scoble in mp3 form. My brain is weird, what can I say. Anyway, like Homer did …
When you’re in Blarney call in for a cup of tea

Oh boy - u jus reached the halfway mark with jus a small little ‘video break” !! Not bad- not bad at all. I am impressed with the no “gym” postings.
Does it effect the readership and hits ? And are there any painpoints ?

hah! memory lane, i had an opportunity to kiss the stone myself years ago - kinda worried about catching something from that unusually smooth surface where all of those lips touch (can you say cold sore?)…hung my boy wonder upside down too, he was 2, gave his mom a near heart attack…have they put up railings yet? and do they have free wi-fi?

Hope to be at the technical session in Cork. The location is a nice place.
Wi-fi at the Blarney stone? Now there’s something the tourist promotion people never thought of…
