If you get iPhone 3G: go for white

I made a big mistake today. I bought a black iPhone 3G. My son told me to buy white. I thought white would look lame, but he was right (he bought a white one). The white doesn’t show dirt the way the black one does. Damn, it’s a schmutz attractor!

Learn from my mistake: go for white.

Looked at both in the store, and the white one was already showing dirt along the cracks and seams. Both looked and felt… well, cheap. Which isn’t a word one normally uses with Apple products.

White or black, I’m putting a case on it anyway.

Hmm… Apparently there were no White ones on the uk I was third in line at the Scottish flagship store and they only had black. Looks like they had enough for the demand though.

  7. So how does it run anyway? I found your blog when I was searching for “iphone” lol. At least you learned that your son has common sense lol

Correct! It shows dirt in *different* ways than the black one does. It’s *white*, for starters. ;-)

When I got into the store they had already sold out of black, so I bought a white one.

  17. I was one of the first in line at the AT&T store in NC. They *only* had white 16GB. I was really bummed, but after waiting over night, I wasn’t going to leave without something. Thanks for making me feel better about getting the white!

I’ve waited over a year for my first iPhone, arrived at the local AT&T Store at 10 minutes till 8 - they only had 20 phones, I was number 14 in line, while there I talked myself into getting my daughter one also (next to the last one). We both got the 16GB. She got black and I got white so we could tell them apart. I really didn’t want the white one but it looks great - everyone wants to touch and play with them. Favorite toy for BOTH of us (and I’ve had several phones and iPods!) - gave my roommate my red Palm Treo and now he’s happy!

I recommend choosing none over black or white. It seems many people are afflicted by the Garbage Pail Kids Phenomenon:
