My first TwitterGram

OK, I’m often on the freeway driving between interviews here in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.

So, when Dave Winer told me about TwitterGram I was very interested. I’ve always wanted to Twitter from the freeway and let my friends know what’s up, but I didn’t want to use a keyboard. Remember that grass fire the other day? That would have been a perfect time to use this service to let everyone else know what I was seeing in between the pictures I was posting from my Nokia N95 to Flickr.

Anyway, this service rocks. Took me less than 30 seconds to sign up and it works as advertised. Here’s my first TwitterGram.

    Twitter is still having some scale issues.
  • Most people at work either do not have sound on their machines or can not blurt out audio, either as flash video or as mp3 audio during work hours. That's the problem with this, and the advantage of text based messaging.
  • I am impressed with Dave Winer's TwitterGram.
    With it, you are no longer limited to 140 characters!

    Your TwitterGrams work perfectly with my Blackberry 8800.
  • Something like this could help to take twitter to new levels/markets. It would be handy being able to leave a voice message and have it converted to text.

  • Robert, i want to signal you Hictu,an Italian Twitter that i discovered some days ago: you can register instantly video/audio with a flash plugin in order to have mini podcast.

  • Aren't there enough twits on the highway already?
  • I have problems with MP3s and movs as urls in IE7 (works fine in Firefox).

    Not sure if the problem is with Apple/Quicktime or Microsoft but this might be what some are seeing (I also cannot play the mp3 url you provided using IE7).
