  1. It’s ironic how the Surface site is running on Flash, considering the announcement of Silverlight last month. This would have been the perfect opportunity to get Silverlight (albeit a beta version) installed on at least a couple of thousand computers (assuming that people were intrigued enough by Surface to not let the Silverlight install turn them off to the site completely).

  9. Didn’t NYU researcher Jeff Hahn already introduce a very similar technology at TED 2006 and TED 2007?

He demoed a number of prototype apps for the device and is already selling them to intelligence agencies.

Jeff Hahn is acknowledged and even appears in the Popular Mechanics video. According to the Pop Mech video, Surface Computing makes use of Hahn’s multitouch display. But it adds a lot more cool stuff.

Looks very cool, but I am utterly unsurprised that I’m not able to view the videos on my Mac with Firefox. I can view the intro but not the subsequent videos. What am I missing?
