I’m not sure what default Yahoo passwords you’re talking about, but I had a pretty positive password experience with Yahoo recently. I had managed to lock myself out of my Yahoo account and wasn’t getting the password reminder emails and after some digging, was able to get in touch with their security team (account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com), who asked me some account verification questions and were able to reset my password successfully.

Good thing too, since I’ve had this account for 10+ years now. I’ve never had to create a different one with Yahoo.

I’ve had several accounts where I forget the passwords… especially the ones that force you to use numbers, capital and lowercase letters… when theres so many factors for a site unique passwords, it is bound to be forgotten… and the likelihood of returning to the site significantly diminishes.

iam terribly unnoid on seeing the password arrangements

Hi All

I’ve read the comments here and I see some people ask for password help.

Looks like someone here can recover passwords, atleast alot of people here thinks so!

I am using opera but I had to reinstall my xp, before that I tried to save my browser settings, but without luck, it forgot all my passwords and so did I

For now, I only need one password for a Yahoo! mail account that I have.

Don’t worry, you really aren’t the only one that this has happened to. I am in the same boat. I just emailed the yahoo security people at account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com, which was mentioned before. I hope they can offer a solution.

Well I am one of those who has changed my password, I did write it down but I believe the one of the kids threw that piece of paper away. Now I can not remember the exact way I put the answer in for my secret question to retrieve my password. I have no secondary email to have it sent to, so can anyone help me with this one???

I have about 8 yahoo email accounts. I changed a password and selected two secret questions and now I can't get into that email account. I have stayed awake all night trying to remember the password. I remember the response to the first secret question. And although the rep;y to the second question is always the same answer, I must have made a typo or changed the sequence to the answer because i can't get it right. I spoent days going through the yahoo website trying to find a way to contact yahoo. I could only get this one form to come up and I would fill it out and never receive any confirmation or reply. Then I searched myself onto the website and there you had this address ' mailto:account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com' listed for yahoo. I sent an email to that address. I got back a standard reply asking me to answer several questions trying to prove I did in fact own that mail account. It says to answer the questions and hit the reply tab, making sure the original customer number is in the subject box I did that. However, each time I answer the questions and return the email hoping someone will get back in touch and let me back into my email account, I just keep getting the same basic email back telling me to answer the questions and return the amail to yahoo. I seemed to have hit a glitchj. I've been locked out of the account since 5/31/09 and I'm worried they are going to delete the account. I have all of my tax information (and my extension is about to run out) all of my banking ifnormation as well as important medical documentation. Whether or not it was stupid to use the email account for these things is pointless now. Can anyone tell me how I can get a reply from yahoo and get back into my email account. I just don't know what to do now. If I thought it was safe or that they really worked I would buy one of those programs that say they can get you past security and back into your account. I've never done anything like that before and don't really approve of that practice, but I don't know why yahoo has to be so difficult. Does anyone know a phone number where I can get in touch with a person at yahoo?. I have two other email providers and they are pretty easy to get in touch with. They reply right away. Any and all help is appreciated
