BlogDinner on Monday Night

I’m in Freiburg, Germany, until Tuesday, and Martin Spedding, a geek who works at Microsoft, wants to get together. I’m so blessed to have readers in almost every little town in the world. Anyone else want to get together on Monday night? Where’s a fun place to meet?

  • I'm jealous. I lived in Lahr, not all that far from Freiburg, in the Schwarzwald, when I was a Canadian military brat back in the '60's. It's a beautiful part of Germany.

    I live and work in Freiburg and I'd be glad to join the dinner, too (if public, see comment above by Rolf). Both locations recommended, Martins Br. and Feierling, are good choices.

    At present I'm working on my thesis about "SXSW in the Enterprise". Your visit to Freiburg is already being spreaded among local social networkers and "2.0"-people.

    I think we'll all get along fine with "Genglish" ;-)

    I'am living in Freiburg and interessted in rss, feeds, web 2.0. If this BlogDinner is a public event, I would be glad to join it.

    Regardless of that, I think the Martinsbräu (Martins Brewery) is a good place for a meeting like that. Located in the old town, enough place (particularly monday evening), good housebrewed beer and local dishes.

    Robert- I was in Freiburg last August- absolutely beautiful college town. There was a brewery/beer garden there I really liked, the Hausbrauerei Feierling- (http://www.feierling.de/). I speak enough German to get by, I don't think there was an English menu. Martin's Brewery (http://www.mbfr.de/) might also be a good choice, it's more centrally located.
