This kid wants Bob the Builder
How has culture and society changed? Just ask 14-month-old Tyler — the kid in front of us. He keeps looking at my computer and saying something that sounds like Bob the Builder. Bbbbbbbob is really more what it sounds like. But his parents say they let him play with Bob the Builder.com. Damn, they start the kids young on computers in San Francisco.
I think it’s cute that he thinks that Bob the Builder is on my computer too.

and by a show of hands, how many think it is sad and pathetic Scoble couldn’t even enjoy a baseball game without his computer?

You know what’s really lame? That I can’t visit San Francisco with Patrick without being dragged into the Apple store. Pathetic. And sad.

You mean you DON’T have Bob the Builder on your computer?
And you call yourself a geek!

Common. He is already 14 months old. He knows that you can have the website on your computer, because you get free WiFi delivered by AT&T. ;-)

The truth is, Scoble was playing Bob the Builder, the kid recognized the sounds and wanted to play, but Scoble, ashamed at himself, didn’t want the parents to know that he was playing kids game.

At just 14 months this kid associates computers with entertainment. How do you think he’ll regard it as he grows older?

Robert, have you thought that maybe Patrick is dragging you into Apple Stores for a reason?

That’s the same as my kid who loves “Baby Einsteins”, and that can play “BRUM BRUM” (a car racing game) with his older brother…. he says either “NSTEEIN” or “BRUMBRUM” when he sees a computer now… :-)
He even talks to his grandad in another country with Skype!
…well, geeks do start their kids in computing early….
