Let’s make Chrono Tron #1

by on March 29, 2006

Chrono Tron is moving up fast on Wordpress.com (he's the #2 blog there out of thousands of blogs — Wordpress is seeing more than 1,000 new blogs everyday started).

So, click on his link and you'll help him get into the #1 spot.

OK, that's a little funny, but seriously he (I assume it's a he) is a fun tech blog to read. I hope this helps more techies to start blogging. You can get noticed and move up the list.

Have you started a new tech blog in the past year? Leave your URL here so we can check you out. I haven't seen many good code blogs, by the way.

Coding Horror is one that stands out in my aggregator. Any other great code blogs?

  • These are my little pieces of the blog world.

    http://www.thoughtstoblog.com (some personal, some tech)

    http://blogs.inetium.com (all tech)

  • Not a code blog, but a tech blog. And one of my first posts asked you a direct question ;-). I figured you'd get it through Technorati magic, but I got to ask you in person today. Didn't quite finish the discussion though, and I had a meeting to go to right after your talk.

    Here's my fledgeling blog: http://brh.numbera.com/blog/
  • Lot's of techie stuff on my blog. Just click on some geeky tags.
  • I recently updated my blog with a tagging article and I was very surprised by the # of hits (currently #4 on wordpress). I can definitely see how blogging can be addictive :)

Coding and Tech blogs are different, no? Both the blogs that you point are tech blogs but they don't throw code at you like Larry Osterman's blog :- http://blogs.msdn.com/larryosterman/
  • AV: good point.
  • the best code/tech blog I've seen =oP

Is the design of custom tech products a tech blog? Judge for yourself. http://www.aialone.com
  • Robert,

You're kidding right? There are literally thousands of excellent code blogs and many of them in your own back-yard. Most of us geek bloggers read you for the humor and social commentary, but we live for the code blogs man!

  • Eber: with a dog photo? Heheh! Cool phone, though. The Cingular PR director I met today said they are flying off of the shelves.

Jeff: of course. But which ones are your favorites? Those have tons of blogs on them.
  • No code, I'm afraid, but an obsession with tech!

  • My blog is witty, insightful, and sexier than a Catholic schoolgirl with pigtails. http://www.jeffperrin.com
  • This is one which I started about a month ago. Posting various bits now and then :)

  • Does making fun of the Gillmor gang count as a tech blog?
If Dan Gillmor's Citizen Journalism movement is really a front for drugs, then is that a code blog?
  • Greetings,
Well, http://www.foxcode.ws is a coding blog and the early articles are pretty decent, but more recently it's been devoted to announcing betas of my eBay tool, because that's where most of my readers came from.

I need to get back to writing about what I'm coding into there, like the recent internal conversion to XSLT, and what that entailed. I have more fun when I'm writing about my code. ;)

Mostly Web 2.0 things. I've been posting a lot more than I used to in the past month. It's a lot of fun!

Still haven't gotten anywhere near the Scoble-rank of 10+ posts/day though.
  • OK...I was going to wait until I had a few more posts before I told anybody about this. But here's scoble inviting me to do this, so what the hell.

A few days ago I started a blog hoping to let people know what it's like to be a programmer in big financial firms. Right now I have only one post up and it's about the code rather than about the human experience, but I plan to talk about both.

    http://frogprincefred.blogspot.com/

Another blog about the same subject, from an older and more cynical person than me, is at:

    http://www.wallstreetprogrammer.com/

That blog inspired me to start mine. Unfortunately it hasn't updated for a couple of weeks.
  • If any coder out there gets on a dashboard project, they have to check out http://dashboardspy.wordpress.com - The dashboard train is really picking up momentum!!
  • I first noticed Chrono Tron when the coComment thing started. I guess he was something like #2 on the most-active people list there too!
  • Thanks for the link mate...
  • www.kinlan.co.uk is my Tech Blog. Tell me what you think.

    paul.kinlan@gmail.com
  • www.whoismadhur.com is my Blog . Do tell me your opinion

    Madhur
  • Bot-Hack : http://bothack.wordpress.com. Right now its kinda bit sloppy. But I guess will work on making it better.
  • splattered bits - essays on software

Keep checking back. I write once or twice a month. Trying to get myself in the habit of writing more frequently. I'm getting there.
  • Phil Haack (Haacked.com) did a great rundown of his top 10 tech blogs here:
    http://haacked.com/archive/2005/09/23/10326.aspx

    Here's my top 10 list:
    http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2005/1...

So... do you have a top 10 tech blog list? (Memeorandum doesn't count!)
  • Robert, I am assuming you didn't mean "english language tech blogs", as some of us are writing from that spanish-speaking little place in Europe called Madrid... ;)

    We're practically neighbours, though: http://oclcyc.wordpress.com

    :)
  • Thoughts on developing Mac software at Microsoft. I work in the Macintosh Business Unit and have since just out of High School. Just Mac software development through my eyes, first person, connecting the dots.
  • I put code on my blog, I also write about grid computing with the occasional tech and personal comments. Right now most of the code samples are Excel-based; C#, VBA, VBS using the Digipede Network to distribute Excel workbooks on a grid. I’ve learned a lot more about Excel in the last few months than I ever thought I would know and as I’ve learned things I’ve put the information up. Once I finish the Excel project I’m going to start building some stuff to demo grid-enabling SOA applications. I’m looking forward to playing with ASP.NET 2.0, ATLAS, and web services and as I figure stuff out those code snippets will end up on my blog also. http://krgreenlee.blogspot.com/
  • Idea was to be coding blog, but haven't posted code as of yet.

    General tech blog really.
Claim to fame is I have managed to get Greg Stein (Apache) and Eric Richards to make comments which is cool. It's cool how people like me miles from anywhere can get important people to read what they have to say - Blogging Rocks.

  • My lovechild SCHADENFREUDE is probably too snarky, harsh and sporadically updated to fit in your aggregator, Robert, but I try to serve the community with some alternative Web 2.0 musings.

    The adress is http://haarball.wordpress.com.
  • A bit of everything, really, but I like to touch on the artistic (some might say "anal") side of coding.

I know some people say that nothing good can come from a pun, but judge for yourself...

I have just started a new blog today....It is a blog all about software and technology. I shall be covering everything from software development to consumer electronics and anything else that I find interesting. Please come have a look, maybe you could be my first visitor. :-) There's not actually much content there yet but I hope to be quickly adding more with regular / frequent posts.

    My URL is www.zerosoft.co.uk

My blog is mostly a reblog for my less tech-savvy friends and a way of taking persistent notes. I do however add my own comments and speak toward specific news or technology subjects.
