Atariboy is WordPress’ hot blog today

Atariboy kicked me off of WordPress.com’s “Hot blogs #1″ spot (I’ve been pretty consistently at the top spot ever since I switched to WordPress). I started reading him and he has a cool tech blog. Subscribed! Oh, how do you get into the #1 spot? Get onto the front page of Digg twice in two days. That’s what Atariboy did. But, doing that isn’t easy. You gotta have interesting content. But, just proves that you can come out of nowhere to become #1 in this blogging world.

Sometimes what makes it to the top, is pond scum. Not specific to this case, per se. But an overall conceptual framework.

You’re top in my book! :-)

  3. Christopher Coulter Says:

Nice comeback :) Credit where credit due.

So if you have yet to read Digg, or memorandum or any of the other blogger circlejerk party sites, does that mean Atariboy did anything but write well?

Once again, the “blogosphere” shows itself to be the domain of tech fanboys.

Your top on my list :).

[...] Oh, and because I am dealing with something Scobleizer put me on to, I will deal with something else of his at the same time - congratulations Atariboy for your top-spot. Not that, you know, such rankings are really all that representative. High traffic doesn’t automatically equate to good content. I know blogs with a readership of five that I enjoy reading more than blogs with a readership in the thousands. Still credit where it’s due, Atariboy has some good content. So, I am forced to admit now, does Robert. And there’s no denying that a link from the Scobleizer is worth its weight in Blogosphere-Gold. Mildly ironic. Linking to the chap who knocked him off the top spot is likely to make it harder to get back up… At least for the moment. [...]

Well the world is a bit oddly skewed if commenting on software and posting a couple of pictures of CoComment makes you the #1 blog.

Sadly, it reinforces the self-referential “echo chamber” comments about blogging.

    I have a readership of three but I think I’m number 1.

    LOL

  9. John C. Welch Says:

are you still number one if people tell you with the middle finger?

’cause if so, i’m number one with a BULLET!!!

  10. John C. Welch Says:

Number one, I order you to make number two..hehehehehehe

Well to be truthfull, AtariBoy is there because he had links to the IT Crowd episodes, that people could not get to from US. Thanks to him i did get to watch the show…

  12. Alexander Says:

No worries, now your back on top again. Regards from the Swiss mountains, Alexander

  13. Pipit’s Blog @ Wordpress.com » How many hits you need to be included on the wordpress.com’s Top List ? Says:

[...] But you can do that too. Like Scobleizer said at his posting Atariboy is WordPress’ hot blog today (you see, from 922 jump to 28.067, leave Scobleizer’s at 13.466) : But, just proves that you can come out of nowhere to become #1 in this blogging world. [...]
