My surreal life #532

How surreal is my life? Last night I was at Marc Canter’s dinner (he’s the guy who founded Macromind that later became Macromedia) and last night who was sitting next to me? Three beautiful women. OK, my wife was one of them. But, the other was Anina who is a fashion model here in Paris and her friend.

Now, for a geek, this is quite a treat, but Anina isn’t just another pretty face. She’s a geek too and is starting a whole business around that fact. She writes about the dinner on her blog.

The experiences here are just unbelieveable. Dave Sifry, founder of Technorati just walked in.

That’s an interesting tid bit about Macromedia. I did not know they were once called Macromind. The name is so similar I wonder why they changed it.

I really like this blog but dislike reading about how awesome it is to be you, or reading posts w/links to a another blog where someone said a nice thing about you, or how popular your blog is, etc. It just doesn’t seem very professional, and we readers have to weed through this stuff to get to the excellent journalism lurking deep inside.

What is the value to the reader knowing that you are so happy to have this job, so liked by the industry and peers, and your blog is so well-read? We already know these things :) Are you nervous we won’t come back to read again or tell others about the blog unless you convince us? We don’t read you because of these things - we read your blog because you bring to our attention incredibly useful information. Keep up the good work!
