MSN Spaces has an API…

Nice to see that MSN Spaces now supports the MetaWeblogAPI, thanks to Dare Obasanjo for posting that on his blog. Why is that a big deal? Because now developers can build things that can write to MSN Spaces. I’ll have to see if Maryam can use Flock with her MSN Spaces-based blog, for instance.

Here’s hoping that someone makes a website where students can share their notes created in OneNote with a simple extension.

Since it’s a beta for developers of weblog posting tools (sorry, gotta read clear down to the end of the post), probably not unless Maryam’s a Flock developer now.

Which would be very cool ;)

Isn’t that like a core feature of a blogging system? If anyone else launched a blogging service without features like that they would fail miserably but because Microsoft currently has so much marketing leverage they are able to get away with it.

It would be so nice to see Microsoft compete based upon the quality of their products and not on their marketing muscle….

Personally I don’t even like the spaces layout. Moveable type has the best UI, but its too complex for everyday users.

Hmmm… google purchased blogger, not Microsoft should purchase six apart.

Oh lord no. If MS bought Six Apart, the entire product line would be rewritten to only work on IIS, you’d need Passport IDs to use it, it would be six times the current size, and you could only use 10% of the feature set outside of IE on Windows. Six months later, the Firefox developer would be hired, so you’d have firefox support two months later.

    If they didn’t get sick.

LiveJournal would of course be immediately shuttered
